NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The IU Southeast softball team announced today its incoming recruiting class for the 2012 season.
The group is highlighted by three players who were All-State selections and four other players who were recruited by NCAA Division I schools. "It is, hands down, the best recruiting class in program history," IU Southeast Head Coach Todd Buckingham said.
The class includes two Floyd Central graduates: P/1B Jordan Batliner- a three-time All-State selection and third baseman Paige Davis. The group also has a pair of players from Jennings County in outfielder Summer Sanders and OF/P Amber Lozier.
The Grenadiers add this class to a group of players that include KIAC Player of the Year Katie Jelinek and KIAC Pitcher of the Year Kayla Duke. IU Southeast finished the 2011 campaign 34-20 (17-1 KIAC) and lost in the KIAC Championship game to Asbury.
