NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- The IU Southeast Softball program will host the first ever Midwest Fall Softball Player Showcase this upcoming fall. The date is set for October 24th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The event will showcase the softball talents of 60 high school players from IN, KY, IL, OH, TN, and WV.

The structure for the showcase will be in a typical game format, each player will be participating in two 90-minute games at their priority positions.

NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The IU Southeast softball team will host an alumni game on Saturday, October 2 at the Koetter Sports Softball Complex on campus. The game is set to begin at 11 a.m. in New Albany.

Any former IU Southeast softball players are invited to participate in the game. For more information and to sign up, former players should contact Grenadier Head Coach Todd Buckingham at 812-661-9068.

IU Southeast finished last season with a 33-15 overall record. The 2010 Grenadier squad tied the school record for most wins in a season with 33 (2008).

DECATUR, Ala. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2010 Softball All-America teams. Players are selected by the All-America committee.

IU Southeast senior Shana Andres has been named All-America Honorable Mention by the national committee. Andres is from Floyds Knobs, Ind. and has played three years at IU Southeast mostly as a shortstop.

Andres hit .399 this season with a .634 slugging percentage. Andres scored 43 runs on 61 hits with 12 triples and 28 RBIs. Andres also led the team with 26 stolen bases and finished the season ranked No. 1 in the NAIA for most triples per game (0.255).

DECATUR, Ala. - (Tournament Scoreboard) The IU Southeast softball team wrapped up its 2010 season on Monday (5/24) at the 2010 NAIA Softball National Championship. The Grenadiers fell to Morningside College 4-0 in the final day of pool play at the Morgan Wilson Sports Complex in Decatur, Ala.

Indiana University Southeast (33-15) struggled to get hits against the Mustangs of Morningside College (40-9). Morningside pitcher Kelly Baumert (22-7) threw a complete game for the Mustangs allowing only three hits. Baumert struck out seven Grenadiers with a walk in seven innings of work.

DECATUR, Ala. - (Tournament Scoreboard) Katie Boocher's sixth-inning single to right-center to bring around Holly Weaver lifted Bethel past IU Southeast 1-0 in Pool D action on the second day of the 2010 NAIA Softball National Championship at Wilson Morgan Softball Complex Saturday.

Bethel, now 2-0 in the pool and 47-7 overall, scattered five hits off of losing pitcher Kayla Duke. Senior pitcher Kelli Zache tossed a no-hitter for the Pilots. She struck out eight Grenadiers.
