Players, Coaches Conduct Basketball Drills for Special Olympic Athletes

NEW ALBANY, Ind. - Players and coaches from the Indiana University Southeast men's and women's basketball teams participated in a clinic for Special Olympic athletes at the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Championship in Point Lookout, Mo. and at the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship in Sioux City, Iowa last week.

Both teams joined with other NAIA schools to make time to help take part in a basketball clinic involving kids with special needs.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa - (Box Score) Jamestown (N.D.) opened the second day of play at the 19th Annual State Farm-NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship at the Tyson Events Center/Gateway Arena with a 65-58 win over Indiana University Southeast on Thursday.

The win was the first for the Jimmies three trips to the national championship and advance to Friday's second round with a 10:15 a.m. meeting against Iowa Wesleyan (27-6). Jamestown's overall record stands at 26-6, while Indiana University Southeast finishes it season with a 23-9 overall record.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa - The Indiana University Southeast women's basketball team will play Jamestown College (N.D.) in the first round of the 19th Annual NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship in Sioux City, Iowa. at 8:30 a.m. (CT) on Thursday, March 11.

In his 21st season as IU Southeast women's basketball head coach, KIAC Coach of the Year Robin Farris has led the Grenadiers (23-8, 11-1 KIAC) to its second consecutive KIAC Regular-Season and KIAC Tournament Championship this season. IU Southeast has also won 14 out of its last 15 games heading into the national championship.
