KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The IU Southeast men's basketball program remains in the same spot this week, earning the No. 4 ranking in the 2009-10 NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 poll for the third consecutive week as announced Monday by the NAIA national office. The Grenadiers are 20-3 overall and 9-0 in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC). The men's basketball team is the highest NAIA national ranking ever achieved by an athletic team in IU Southeast school history.

After holding down the second spot in each of the last six polls, No. 1 Walsh (Oho) moves up to the top billing in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 poll this week. Walsh is ranked the top team for the first time since Dec. 7, 1997. Oklahoma Wesleyan, ranked No. 2 this week, was the top team for the last 12 straight polls before losing on Jan. 30 and Feb. 2.

NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The IU Southeast men's basketball team won a physical conference game on Tuesday evening, defeating the visiting Brescia University Bearcats 91-63 at home in New Albany, Ind.

The No. 4-ranked Grenadiers (NAIA Division II) struggled early out of the gate. Brescia jumped out to a 21-13 lead over the Grenadiers in the first ten minutes. IU Southeast fought back to take the lead back with under four minutes left in the first half. IU Southeast would not look back after taking the lead for the first time, rolling to a 28 point victory.

IU Southeast (19-3, 8-0 KIAC) was led by junior Jazzmarr Ferguson (Louisville, Ky.) with 23 points, three rebounds and two assists.

The men's basketball team is the highest NAIA national ranking ever achieved by an athletic team in IU Southeast school history.

Despite losing for the first time in 40 games, No. 1 Oklahoma Wesleyan remains the top team for the 12th straight NAIA Top 25 poll, announced Monday by the NAIA office. There was numerous upsets last week as the top-10 lost nine times.

This week's ranking is the highest NAIA national ranking ever achieved by an athletic team in IU Southeast school history.

Oklahoma Wesleyan earned the No. 1 ranking for the 11th straight NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 poll. In the sixth edition of the Top 25, Oklahoma Wesleyan grabbed all of the 16 first-place votes and is 20-0 this year.

NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The IU Southeast men's basketball defeated Asbury College 84-55 on Saturday evening to earn a Homecoming victory in front of a near record crowd of 1,425 fans.

With the win, the IU Southeast men's basketball team improves its overall season record to 17-3. The Grenadiers also currently hold sole possession of first place in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with an undefeated 6-0 record against KIAC opponents.

IU Southeast was led by junior Jazzmarr Ferguson (Louisville, Ky.) with 24 points, six assists and five rebounds. Senior Carlos Mitchell (Louisville, Ky.) added 10 points for the Grenadiers with a team-high eight rebounds.
