NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The IU Southeast women's tennis dominated IU East 9-0 to defend its KIAC Championship title.
The Grenadiers defeated Alice Lloyd 5-0 and Midway 9-0 to advance to the championship match.
IU Southeast also placed five Grenadiers on the KIAC All-Conference team. Senior Kelsey Wisman was named to her third-straight all-conference team, while Emily McGrath, Ashley Bunch and Emma LaDuke wnamed to the team for the second-straight time. Freshman Julia Blauvelt capped an impressive first season with an all-conference award as well.

NEW ALBANY, Ind.- IU Southeast sophomore Emily McGrath (Louisville, Ky.) was selected as the KIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week by KIAC officials Monday.
The Male High School product wemt 4-0 in No.1 singles and doubles action against Midway and IU East last week. She won her No. 1 singles match against Midway College's Jessica Kutch 4-6, 7-6, 1-0 (10-7) and also won her No. 1 doubles match Kutch and Amy Alieva 8-4. She won her No. 1 singles match against IU East's Courtney Ecker 6-1, 7-5 and won her No. 1 doubles match against Ecker and Kristi Henderson 8-5.
IU Southeast won both matches 9-0 en route to an undefeated conference record for the sixth straight season. The Grenadiers finished 13-0 in KIAC play and 15-3 overall. They will be the top seed in the KIAC tournament this weekend at Brescia University.

NEW ALBANY, Ind. -The IU Southeast women's tennis team opens the season with two home matches on Saturday.
The Grenadiers host Indiana Wesleyan at 11 am. and Marian University at 3 pm..
IU Southeast was picked to win the KIAC by the league's coaches in the annual preseason poll. They have five players returning from last year's championship squad.
IU Southeast heads to Richmond, Ind. on Sunday to face IU East at 12 pm.. Their next home match is scheduled for Sept. 25 against Berea at 10 am followed by Brescia at 1 pm.

BEREA, Ky. - The IU Southeast women's tennis team was picked to finish first in a preseason poll of KIAC coaches announced on Wednesday.
The Grenadiers are picked to repeat as conference champions after winning the regular season and tournament titles a season ago. IU Southeast finished with 62 points in the poll and seven first place votes. Asbury University was second with 50 points.

NEW ALBANY, Ind. - Senior Adam Denney and junior Kelsey Wisman have been honored as 2011 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
Denney, a Bedford, Ind. native, is one of 96 men's tennis players who have been honored as Scholar-Athletes this season.
Wisman, a Floyds Knobs native and Floyd Central graduate, is one of 126 women's tennis players who have been named 2011 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
