Wiley Brown - Head Coach - 3rd Season
Wiley Brown just completed his third season as head coach for the men's basketball program at Indiana University Southeast. During his three years at the helm of the program, Brown has led the Grenadiers to three consecutive appearances in the NAIA National Tournament.

Brown has also led his teams to three consecutive KIAC Conference Championships. With a 75-22 (.773) overall coaching record, Brown was named the 2010 KIAC Men's Basketball Coach of the Year.

Brown led the Grenadiers to their most historic season ever in 2010. The Grenadiers achieved their highest NAIA national ranking in the history of IU Southeast Athletics and advanced to the NAIA Elite Eight for the first time.

A starting forward on the NCAA Division I National Champion basketball team at the University of Louisville in 1980 and a member of the 1982 Final Four team, Brown previously served in multiple capacities in the University of Louisville athletic department for the past 15 years. Brown served as strength and conditioning coordinator under both former Louisville Hall of Fame Head Coach Denny Crum and current Louisville Head Coach Rick Pitino for a total of 13 years.

In 2003, Brown served as an interim assistant coach for the Louisville men's basketball program. Beginning in 2005, Brown served Louisville Athletic Director Tom Jurich as the assistant director of outreach and most recently as the director of community enrichment. During that time he managed fundraising efforts for outreach programs throughout greater Louisville and directed the CARDSfit program.

Brown is no stranger to playing at a competitive level. As a player at Louisville, Brown posted career totals of 699 points, 407 rebounds and 121 assists, helping the Cardinals to a combined 101-30 four-year record.

After finishing his successful collegiate basketball playing career, Brown joined the National Football League (NFL) where he played defensive end for two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. During his time with the Eagles' organization, Brown played under the direction of Dick Vermeil and Marion Campbell.

After his brief stint in the NFL, Brown returned to basketball. For seven years Brown played professional basketball in the International Federation of Basketball where he traveled throughout the world. Brown spent one year with the CBA Louisville Catbirds and the remaining six years in
Spain, France, and Italy.

A native of Sylvester, Ga., Brown kept a promise to his mother by earning his bachelor's degree in 1992 from the University of Louisville. He majored in communications, health education and Pan African studies. He was twice named to the U of L honor roll. He and his wife, Anne-Marie, reside in Louisville and have one son, Caleb.

Josh Pittman - Assistant Coach - 1st Season
Josh Pittman begins his first season at IU Southeast where he serves as the Assistant Coach for the Men's Basketball Program. Pittman joins the Grenadier basketball program from Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa.

Josh Pittman served as Assistant Coach for Grand View University and 2009 Midwest Collegiate Conference Coach of the Year Denis Schaefer. Pittman helped the Vikings to a 25-9 record, a 12 win improvement from the previous season. During the 08-09 season he helped the Vikings clinch the regular season conference championship and tournament runner up. The Vikings also qualified for the NAIA Div. II National Tournament before falling in the Sweet 16 to eventual champion Oklahoma Wesleyan 68-64.

Prior to working at Grand View, Pittman was at New Mexico State serving as the Program Assistant for the men's basketball team working for Head Coach Marvin Menzies. There he assisted with on campus visits, film breakdown, scouting reports, and individual instruction. He followed Coach Menzies from the University of Louisville to New Mexico State.

Prior to working at New Mexico State Pittman spent two years at the University of Louisville working for Rick Pitino. He served as a student assistant assisting in on campus visits, assisted in scouting reports, film break down, and individual workouts. During his time at the University of Louisville he also worked for assistant coaches such as Kevin Willard (head coach Iona College), Marvin Menzies (head coach New Mexico State University), and Steve Masiello (assistant coach University of Louisville). The Cardinals went to the NIT Final Four before losing to eventual champion South Carolina in 2006 and lost to Texas A&M in the 2007 NCAA Tournament.
 
Josh Pittman's coaching career began at Christian Academy of Louisville in 2004. While there, he was a varsity assistant coach. He also dealt with player development of the guards, film break down, and scouting opponets.
 
Pittman is a 2002 graduate of Christian Academy of Louisville in Louisville, Ky. There he played for one of the winningest coaches in Louisville, Jeff Imlay. He ranks in the top five in school history in points, scoring well over 1,000 points. Pittman earned a B.A. from the University of Louisville in Health and Sports Performance.

Alvin Thomas - Assistant Coach - 4th Season

Alvin Thomas enters his third season as an assistant coach for the men's basketball program at Indiana University Southeast. He coached his first season under the direction of now Wake Forest University Director of Basketball Operations Walt Corbean and begins his second season as an assistant for Wiley Brown.

Prior to coming to IU Southeast, Thomas spent three years as an assistant coach at Louisville Seneca High School under the direction of former University of Louisville player and current Jeffersonville High School Athletic Director Tony Branch.

Thomas also founded the Louisville Street Heat AAU Basketball program. The basketball program fielded winning teams for both boys and girls (2002-2006). The Louisville Street Heat has produced several Kentucky All-Stars, All-State Team Members, along with many Regional and District Most Valuable Players (MVP).

Coach Thomas was a standout athlete in high school at Louisville Male. During his time as a Bulldog he lettered in both basketball and track and field. Thomas attended the University of Louisville, and is currently employed in healthcare.

Scott Wilkins - Assistant Coach - 5th Season

Scott Wilkins begins his fourth season with the IU southeast men's basketball program. He begins this season in his second year as the Grenadier's video coordinator. He previously served as a team manager for two years prior to making the transition to video coordinator.

Wilkins duties as a video coordinator include getting game tapes for future opponents and breaking down the film for the coaches and players. Wilkins also tapes practices and coordinates all video exchange.

Prior to becoming a basketball manager, Wilkins ran four seasons for the IU Southeast cross country team from 1999-2003. He became the No. 1 runner on the team his final two seasons.

Wilkins is originally from Goshen, Kentucky and graduated from South Oldham High School in 1999. At South Oldham Wilkins managed the boys basketball team while also running track and cross country for the Dragons.

A graduate of IU Southeast, Wilkins received his bachelor's degree in general studies with a double minor in supervision and recreation/leadership in December of 2005. 

Wilkins is a native of Oldham County and spends his free time as an assistant coach for the boys and girls cross country and track teams at South Oldham High School. He has aspirations of becoming an NCAA Division I men's assistant basketball coach and eventually a head coach.

Brad Zellner - Assistant Coach - 1st Season
Brad Zellner returns for his second stint as assistant men's basketball coach at Indiana University Southeast. Zellner joins the Grenadiers after serving as the head men's basketball coach at Miami University Hamilton.
 
While at Miami University Hamilton, Zellner had to recruit an entire team with only two returning players in four weeks before the school year began. By the end of the year, the Harriers were peaking at the right time, winning eight of their last 10 games and finishing runner-up in the end of the year state tournament.
 
Coach Zellner also spent four seasons as assistant men's basketball coach at IU Southeast from 2000-2004. The team enjoyed success quickly after winning only six games the year before he got to campus. While at IU Southeast, Zellner helped lead IU Southeast to a NAIA National Tournament appearance; three Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) regular season titles, one conference tournament championship and one-second place finish in the conference tournament. His primary duties at IU Southeast included working with perimeter players, serving as recruiting director and coordinating summer basketball camps.
 
Prior to his first stint at IU Southeast, Coach Zellner was a student at Eastern Kentucky University where he earned his B.A. in History in 2000. Coach Zellner spent his college years as a student manager for the men's basketball team and handled administrative duties for the Colonial basketball team. He has also worked numerous summer basketball camps at colleges that include Eastern Kentucky University, University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, Northern Kentucky University and The Ohio State University.

Chris Burt - Manager - 3rd Season

Chris Burt is in his second year as the strength and conditioning coach for the men's basketball team at Indiana University Southeast. He has served as volunteer strength and conditioning consultant for the Grenadier baseball, basketball and women's softball programs since 2005. Hired by IU Southeast Athletic Director Pat Mrozowski in 2005 as a fitness center supervisor, Burt has conducted numerous fitness seminars for the IU Southeast community.

Prior to his stint at IU Southeast, Burt has served as the volunteer strength and conditioning coach for Shawnee High School's (Louisville, Ky.) football program. Burt's career as a strength and conditioning coach started in 2003 under the tutelage of local-renowned Exercise Physiologist Angela Carter-Lanon, while working for the YMCA of Greater Louisville.

A 2006 graduate of IU Southeast, Burt received his bachelor's degree in general studies with minors in supervision and recreation. He also earned a Master's of Science in health and wellness, with a concentration in performance enhancement and injury prevention, from California University of Pennsylvania in 2007. Burt currently works for IU Southeast and Ivy Tech Community College as an adjunct lecturer where he teaches various courses on strength and conditioning.

Burt is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, the National Strength and Conditioning Association and holds certifications from USA Weightlifting (Level 1 club coach, and referee) and the National Academy of Sports Medicine (Performance Enhancement Specialist). Burt resides in Louisville, Ky. with his son Ian (5).
