NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The Indiana University Southeast volleyball team defeated St. Catharine College 3-0 on Tuesday night (Sept. 29) at home.
The Grenadiers defeated the visiting Patriots of St. Catharine 25-10, 27-25, 25-9.
The IU Southeast volleyball team is now 8-7 (.533) overall and 1-0 in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC).
IU Southeast had control during most of the match. The Grenadiers tried a different rotation during the second set of the match. That fact, coupled with better hitting by St. Catharine, made the second set very competitive with the Grenadiers prevailing in the end 27-25.
Freshman
Lindsey Mamon (Sellersburg, Ind.) led the Grenadiers with 11 of the team's 45 total kills. Senior
Stacey Flatt (Louisville, Ky.) added three service aces to help propel the team past St. Catharine. This is the second consecutive game Flatt has served three aces. Sophomore
Lauren McCartin (Floyds Knobs, Ind.) led the team with 15 defensive digs.
St. Catharine (11-16 / 0-6 MSC) and IU Southeast will meet up again two more times over the next three weeks.
