NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast volleyball team defeated Berea College 3-0 Tuesday night, in what was their most impressive showing of the season.
The Grenadiers (9-7, 5-2 KIAC) defeated Berea 25-15, 25-17, 25-15. Jade Troutman had 12 kills to lead the Grenadiers, and Sara Schum added nine. The Grenadiers ended the match with 38 total kills, to the Mountaineers 16.
Berea's (7-7, 4-1 KIAC) Kyra Robinson had a team-high five kills, which dropped their first conference match of the season.
Meaghen Tompkins had 31 assists for the IU Southeast. The Grenadiers hit .222 for the match.
IU Southeast hits the road for the next three matches. They face Oakland City Thursday, Kentucky Wesleyan Saturday and St. Catharine on Sunday. The Grenadiers' next home match is Thursday, October 11 when they host Campbellsville at 7 p.m.
