NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The Indiana University Southeast volleyball team defeated Midway College 3-0 on Tuesday night (Sept. 22) at home.

The Grenadiers defeated Midway 25-16, 25-13, 25-20.

The IU Southeast volleyball team is now 7-7 (.500) overall and 1-0 in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC).

IU Southeast had control during most of the match. While Midway did come on strong in the third set, it wasn't enough to overpower the Grenadiers.
Senior Vanessa Stauble (Louisville, Ky.) and freshman Lindsey Mamon (Sellersburg, Ind.) led the Grenadiers with 12 kills apiece, the two combined for 24 of the team's 38 total kills. Senior Stacey Flatt (Louisville, Ky.) added three service aces to help propel the team past Midway.

Midway and IU Southeast will meet two more times this season. While Midway is a conference school, the KIAC plays a single round-robin in volleyball for conference games. The final contest between Midway and IU Southeast will occur on Oct. 20 at Midway. That final contest will serve as a conference match.

The Grenadier Volleyball team will take this coming weekend off to prepare for the second half of the season. Next up for IU Southeast is St. Catharine. The Grenadiers will host St. Catharine at home next Tuesday (Sept. 29) at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the match are $7 for adults. Students, faculty and staff of IU Southeast can gain free admission to all IU Southeast athletic events with UCard.
