NEW ALBANY, Ind. - Two IU Southeast baseball players were named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes on Thursday.
Junior infielder
Justin Hurst of Ferdinand, Ind. and junior outfielder
Justin McCarty of Louisville were honored for their success in the classroom during the 2011-12 academic year. 259 baseball student-athletes from around the country qualified for the honor.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
