NEW ALBANY, Ind. - Kayla Duke capped off her stellar career by being named to the NAIA Championship All-Tournament Team and a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete.

Duke, a Louisville native and Male High School grad, finished her senior season with a 16-8 record and 1.68 ERA.  She helped the Grenadiers upset the No. 5 and 12-ranked teams in the nation at the NAIA National Tournament.

She also was a NAIA Scholar Athlete for the second year in a row.  The NAIA announced that 308 softball student-athletes have been named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
