NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The IU Southeast Athletic Department announced today that the gym floor and fitness center in the Activities Building will be closed from May 7 - June 8 for commencement rain site set-up and new bleacher construction. The anticipated reopening date for the gym and fitness center is set for Monday, June 11.

IU Southeast officials decided to close the fitness center and gym during construction to ensure security and the safety of all students, faculty and staff.

"We appreciate our campus community's patience during this exciting time of growth. The new bleachers for the Activities Building will improve the comfort of our fans while also improving the look of our gym," said IU Southeast Athletic Director Joe Glover. "New safety features and floor seating that is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) will be added to provide a better atmosphere for all Grenadier fans."
