NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The Indiana University Southeast volleyball team defeated conference foe Asbury College 3-1 on Wednesday night in the Grenadiers' home opener.

IU Southeast defeated Asbury College 25-20, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23 in a highly contested match. The Grenadiers found themselves down 5-0 in the beginning of the fourth set but after a timeout the team rallied back and regained momentum, eventually taking the win.

With the victory, the Grenadiers take sole position of first place in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) standings.

The Grenadier volleyball team is now 3-2 (.600) overall and 1-0 in the KIAC after tonight's match.

The Grenadiers will scrimmage this weekend against Hanover College and will be back in action next week at home. The Grenadiers next regular season match will take place next Tuesday (Sept. 1) against Lindsey Wilson College at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the match are $7 for adults. Students, faculty and staff of IU Southeast can gain free admission to all IU Southeast athletic events with UCard.

Due to continued restoration efforts on the Southeast Activities Building after a summer storm displaced athletic department offices, all fans attending the game on Tuesday (Sept. 1) are asked to enter the gym at the east ground (gym) level.
