NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The IU Southeast softball program is teaming up with three-time Olympic medalist Crystl Bustos for three days of hitting clinics from September 11-13.

All sessions of the clinic will be held at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Ind. at the Koetter Sports Softball Complex on campus.

The hitting clinic will run on Saturday 9/12 and Sunday 9/13. Each day will feature two hitting sessions and two autograph sessions with Bustos.

The cost of the hitting clinic is $80 per three hour session. Preregistration is strongly encouraged as each of the four sessions is limited to 50 athletes. Additional registration for the clinic will also be available one hour before the start time of each session, but there is no guarantee of availability. Concessions will also be available during the clinic.

The coaches' clinic on Friday 9/11 will cost $50 per coach and will also be held at IU Southeast in New Albany. A printable registration form can be found below along with a complete schedule of events. All checks should be made payable to: IU Southeast Softball

 

Bustos is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, winning gold in 2000 and again in 2004. Bustos still holds the world record for home runs during an Olympic series, with six.

A member of the 2008 U.S. Olympic softball team, Bustos won a silver medal after the US team lost to Japan in the gold-medal game. Her accomplishments also include two world cup championships (2006 and 2007), three Pan Americans gold medals (1999, 2003 and 2007), and a gold medal at the 2006 ISF World championships.

Bustos retired from international competition after the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She was also named 2008 USA Softball Player of the Year.
