Jake Simpson and senior
Megan Murphy were named KIAC Men's and Women's Players of the Week by KIAC officials on Monday.
Murphy, a Bloomington, Ind. native, helped IU Southeast go 1-1 on the week with a 79-41 win over Goshen College and a 56-55 loss to Saint Francis. Murphy finished the week with an average of 15 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2.5 steals. The KIAC coaches selected IU Southeast the top team in the preseason poll. The Grenadiers will return to action on November 8th when they travel to Mid-Continent.
Freshman
Jake Simpson of Louisville was named KIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week. IU Southeast was 2-1 on the week with wins over Mid-Continent and Miami University-Hamilton. Simpson finished the week with an average of 18.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. The freshman guard connected on 60 percent of his 3-point attempts (9-for-15). The KIAC coaches selected IU Southeast the top team in the preseason poll. The Grenadiers will return to action on November 11
th when they play Purdue Calumet.
