NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The Indiana University Southeast athletic department is pleased to announce the hiring of Jennifer Spainhour as athletic pep band director.

Spainhour is the first athletic pep band director in school history. She is a 2010 graduate of the University of Louisville's School of Music with a degree in Music Education. Spainhour is the assistant band director at Borden High School and has been on the band staffs at Floyd Central and Henryville.

"We are very excited to hire Jennifer as the IU Southeast athletic pep band director," said Denny Williams, IU Southeast Assistant Athletic Director. "Her experience and music expertise will be an asset as we launch this new program."

The pep band will perform at the majority of men's and women's basketball games as well as various events on campus.

"I am excited at the prospect of starting a new tradition at IU Southeast," Spainhour said. "The pep band will bring a whole new level of life and excitement to home basketball games."

Spainhour is a 2006 graduate of Floyd Central High School where she was a four-year member of the Floyd Central Marching Band. She also was the visual and brass/woodwind technician from 2006-2010.
