NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The IU Southeast volleyball team extended its winning streak to four straight matches Tuesday night as they defeated Midway 3-0.
The Grenadiers (12-8, 6-2 KIAC) jumped out to an early lead and won the first game 25-19. Freshman Kristyn Maymon (Sellersburg, Ind.) had five kills in the first game.
The Eagles (3-8, 2-3 KIAC) fought back in the second game but the Grenadiers were able to grab the victory 25-23. Freshmen Sara Schum (Louisville, Ky.) and Meaghen Tompkins (Louisville, Ky.) had four kills and nine assists respectively to help lead the Grenadiers.
IU Southeast controlled the third game from the outset and beat Midway handily 25-9. Kristyn Maymon led all players with nine kills for the match and Tompkins finished with 27 assists to lead all players.
The Grenadiers are back in action on Tuesday, September 27 when they host KIAC rival Asbury at 7 p.m.
