NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The No. 21-ranked IU Southeast women's basketball team returns home to face Kentucky Christian in the Southeast Activities Building at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 28.
The Grenadiers (15-5, 6-0 KIAC) are coming off of a 84-65 victory on the road against Berea on Saturday, Jan. 22. Four players scored in double-figures including Megan Murphy (Bloomington, Ind.) who had 11 points and seven rebounds. Ashmere Woods (Louisville, Ky.) and Nicole Holman (Louisville, Ky.) each had 14 points and Brianne Miles (Louisville, Ky.) had 14 points off the bench.
Senior guard Whitney Duncan moved into sole possession of ninth place on the IU Southeast women's basketball career points list with 1,168 points. She needs 24 points to pass Amy Bogard (1997-2001) who scored 1,190 points in her career.
Kentucky Christian (10-11) defeated Cincinnati Christian 72-63 Jan. 24.
The No. 21-ranked IU Southeast men's basketball also returns home for the first time since Jan. 11 to host Cincinnati Christian (7-15, 1-5 KIAC) at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday Jan. 29 in the Southeast Activities Building.
The game is part of Equity and Diversity Day which is sponsored by the IU Southeast Athletic Department. Everyone in attendance will receive a complimentary hot dog, soft drink and team photo for the autograph session that will follow immediately after the game. Darlene P. Young, IU Southeast's Director of Staff Equity and Diversity will provide brief remarks prior to tip-off.
The Grenadiers (12-8, 5-1 KIAC) head to Mountain State on Thursday in a rematch of a game held earlier this season. IU Southeast defeated Mountain State 86-71 in the Southeast Activities Building on December 2. Darryl Bell (Louisville, Ky.) had 17 points in the victory.
Both Grenadier basketball teams are back in action on Tuesday, Feb. 1 as they host Berea as part of a doubleheader. The women's basketball team tips-off first at 5:30 p.m. and that game is followed by the men's game at 7:30 p.m.
Ticket prices for the event are $7 for adult general admission and free of charge for children 10 years old or younger. IU Southeast Faculty, Staff and Students will be admitted FREE of charge with UCARD.
