NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The Indiana University Southeast volleyball team took a hard loss to Asbury University 3-1 on Wednesday night (Sept. 8) at home.
The Grenadiers fell to the visiting Eagles of Asbury University: 18-25, 25-20, 20-25, 21-25.
The IU Southeast volleyball team is now 1-4 overall and has yet to begin play in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC).
Sophomore Lindsay Maymon (Sellersburg, Ind.) led the Grenadiers with 11 of the team's 40 total kills. Sophomore
Lindsey Ragland (Georgetown, Ind.) added 8 kills (.238%) of her own.
Junior
Lauren McCartin (Floyds Knobs, Ind.) and Ragland had a team high seven digs in the match. Freshman
Jade Troutman (Mt. Washington, Ky.) served a match-high two service aces.
Asbury University played consistent thought out the match, Hannah Wheeler led the Eagles with a match-high 19 digs. Kelly Cole also added 11 digs to help her team to victory.
IU Southeast will have two back to back home matches beginning next week on Monday the 13
th against Kentucky Wesleyan. Then Tuesday night the Grenadiers will take on Midway College, both games begin at 7 p.m
Tickets for IU Southeast volleyball matches are $7 for adults. Students, faculty and staff of IU Southeast can gain free admission to all IU Southeast athletic events with the UCard.
