NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- The IU Southeast Men's Tennis team had their first win of the year Saturday when they beat Indiana Wesleyan University 5-4 on the IU Southeast campus courts.
It was a huge win for the Grenadiers, last season Indiana Wesleyan was ranked 24th in the nation, and went to the NAIA National Tournament.
IU Southeast swept the doubles on Saturday with
Matt Coomer and
Breyden Everitt winning No. 1 doubles 8-1. Adam Denney and Kevin Sacksteder won No. 2 doubles 8-3, as well as
Evan Biesterveld and
Tyler Jackson won No.3 doubles 8-6.
In singles, Adam Denney won at the No. 2 position 6-3, 6-2, and Kevin Sacksteder won at the No.3 position 6-3, 6-2. The Grenadiers look forward to the next match on the road Friday September 10
th against Purdue Calumet.
