LOUISVILLE, Ky. - IU Southeast senior baseball player Kyle Lenn has been named KIAC Male Athlete of the Year as announced this week by the league office.

Lenn, who was also named KIAC Baseball Player of the Year, broke the IU Southeast record for most home runs in a single season earlier this year. Lenn broke the previous record held by Chris Henon who hit 15 homeruns in 2001 for the Grenadiers. In 2010, Lenn led all Grenadiers in home runs with 24.

A native of Newburgh, Indiana, Lenn attended Vincennes University prior to transferring to IU Southeast in 2007.

This season Lenn led all players in the KIAC in RBIs with 81 (1.37 avg.) and finished in the top five in almost every offensive category among all players in the league.

Lenn finished up the 2010 season with a .419 batting average (team high). Lenn played in all 59 games this season for the Grenadiers. He appeared in 215 at-bats with 62 runs, 90 hits, and 21 doubles with a .870 slugging percentage. Lenn also stole two bases for the Grenadiers while earning a .454 on-base percentage.

As a member of one of the most successful baseball team in IU Southeast history, Lenn was also named to the KIAC All-Conference First Team. Lenn helped lead IU Southeast to its first appearance at the NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round with a 39-20 overall record.

Lenn also led the Grenadiers to a KIAC Regular-Season Championship and to the KIAC Championship Series Title with his superior hitting.

A three year member of the IU Southeast baseball team, Lenn played in 106 games as a Grenadier with a career batting average of .394 with 36 home runs.

An impressive student-athlete, Lenn was also named the 2009-10 IU Southeast Male Athlete of the Year.
