NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The Indiana University Southeast baseball team will take on Brescia University for the best-of-three conference championship series beginning Friday evening in New Albany.
The Grenadiers will take on the Bearcats of Brescia University who last week won the KIAC Tournament Playoff Series. The first game of the three game series will take place Friday (5/7) at 6 p.m. at the Koetter Sports Baseball Complex.
Game two of the series will begin on Saturday afternoon (5/8) at 3 p.m. If game three is necessary then it will begin approximately 30 minutes after game two concludes.
Brescia University has a current record of 20-26 and finished the KIAC regular season with a 15-5 conference record.
The Grenadiers enter the championship series with a 37-17 overall record. IU Southeast won the KIAC regular season title with an 18-2 overall conference record.
The winner of this weekend's conference championship series will represent the KIAC in the 2010 Avista-NAIA World Series Opening Round from May 18-21 at a site to be determined.
Earlier this season, the Grenadiers broke the longest winning streak in program history by winning 15 consecutive games from March 4-20.
The Grenadier baseball team has been on a record setting pace throughout the regular season and is looking to continue its winning ways in post season competition.
