LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The IU Southeast softball team swept the top KIAC weekly softball honors as announced by the conference on Monday. Shana Andres earned the KIAC Player of the Week award while Kayla Duke earned KIAC Pitcher of the Week honors. This is the first time that Andres has won player of the week honors this season. For Duke, this is her fourth time this season being named top-conference pitcher of the week.

Kayla Duke:

Kayla Duke has been named Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for April 19 - April 25. This is the fourth time Duke has won the conference pitcher of the week award this season.
Duke is a sophomore pitcher and outfielder from Louisville, Ky. Duke attended Male High School in Louisville before attending IU Southeast. Duke pitched a shutout against Midway College, striking out six and allowing only six hits. Duke goes into the KIAC Tournament with a 1.80 ERA in 85.1 innings pitched.

Shana Andres:

Shana Andres has been named Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for April 19 - April 25. This is the first week Andres has won the conference player of the week award.
Andres is a senior shortstop from Floyds Knobs, Ind. Andres attended Northeast Mississippi Community College before transferring to IU Southeast. She went 4-of-5 from the plate in a win over Midway College last week. She drove home three runs for the Grenadiers and stole a base in the game as well.
