Senior Night Success For Grenadier Baseball Program
NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The Indiana University Southeast baseball program swept Cincinnati Christian University in four games this weekend. On Friday, the Grenadiers downed the visiting Eagles 8-4. Friday's second game was suspended in the fourth inning due to thunderstorms that entered the region. The game resumed on Saturday afternoon with the Grenadiers pulling out the victory 2-1 on a Kyle Lenn homerun.

With the home run, Lenn broke the IU Southeast single season record for most homeruns with 16. Lenn broke the record previous held by Chris Henon who hit 15 homeruns in 2001 for the Grenadiers.

After finishing the suspended game from Friday, the Grenadiers swept CCU 11-1 in five innings and 10-0 in five innings to complete the weekend.

Grenadier senior Brent Bennett pitched an impressive five-inning no-hitter in the last game on Saturday evening to complete his last home game as a Grenadier in dramatic fashion.

Prior to Saturday's originally scheduled doubleheader at 6 p.m., the IU Southeast baseball team honored 14 seniors for their contributions to the University and the Grenadier baseball program.

With today's victories, the baseball team is now 33-12 overall on the season and 18-2 in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC). IU Southeast has earned a 24-1 record at home this season and has won 10 out of its last 11 games.

The Grenadiers are currently in first place at top of the KIAC Baseball Standings. Brescia University is currently three games back of the Grenadiers in second place. Asbury University is currently seven games back in third place in the regular-season conference standings.

IU Southeast will take on Lindsey Wilson College at 4 p.m. on Tuesday (4/20) afternoon on the road.
