NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The Indiana University Southeast softball program picked up two wins today over Asbury College. The Grenadiers defeated the visiting Eagles of Asbury College 6-2 in the first game of the conference double header. In the second game of the day, the Grenadiers pulled out a 5-2 victory over Asbury.

IU Southeast sophomore Kelsey Everett earned the win for the Grenadiers in game one of the doubleheader. Everett has been named KIAC Pitcher of the Week for the last two consecutive weeks. IU Southeast sophomore Kayla Duke earned the win for IU Southeast in the second game of the day.

The softball Grenadiers are now 26-12 overall on the season and 13-1 in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC). IU Southeast has earned a 15-3 record at home this season and have won five out of its last six games.

The Grenadiers are currently in first place at top of the KIAC Softball Standings. Brescia University is currently two games back of the Grenadiers in second place.

The Grenadiers will have a very special day on Saturday (4/17). The Grenadiers will host Berea College for a conference doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.

The Grenadiers will celebrate senior day on Saturday when they will honor three departing seniors. Shana Andres, Brooke Martin and Tara Denzik will be honored for their contributions to the IU Southeast program during tomorrow's games.
