Shepherd and Walker Earn KIAC Weekly Awards
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The IU Southeast softball team swept the top KIAC weekly softball honors this week as announced by the conference on Monday. Heather Shepherd earned the KIAC Player of the Week award while MiLeah Walker earned KIAC Pitcher of the Week honors. This is the first time either player has won the top KIAC softball weekly award.

Heather Shepherd:IU Southeast sophomore
Heather Shepherd has been named Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week for March 22 - March 28. This is the first week Shepherd has won the conference player of the week award.
Shepherd is a sophomore catcher from Warsaw, Ind. Shepherd attended Warsaw High School before attending IU Southeast. She went 4-of-5 in the double header with West Virginia Tech. On the week she went 11-for-18 from the plate with a .611 batting average. Defensively, Shepherd picked off four runners from behind the plate.

MiLeah Walker:

MiLeah Walker has been named Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for March 22 - March 28. This is the first week Walker has won the conference pitcher of the week award.
Walker is a freshman pitcher from Hurricane, WV. Walker attended Hurricane High School before attending IU Southeast. She threw a no hitter with seven strikeouts in an 8-0 win over Alice Lloyd College last week. Walker had 17 strikeouts in the 15 innings pitched on the week while holding opponents to just two earned runs.
