LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Indiana University Southeast Volleyball team, under the direction of second year Head Coach Lesley Duruy Prather, conducted a community service project on Monday, March 8 at Eisenhower Elementary School in Louisville, Ky.
The Grenadiers participated in an after-school program called "Girl Power" where 4th and 5th grade girls learn about a variety of sports and about the importance of staying fit. Several players and coaches from IU Southeast went to talk to the girls about going to college and about keeping healthy.
After speaking to the girls, the Grenadier Volleyball team did what they do best… play volleyball! The team put on a special volleyball clinic for all of the girls who participated in the after school program.
Coach Drury Prather was excited to participate in this project. "We had such a great time working with this group of young ladies. It is a great feeling to introduce volleyball to children who have never been exposed to the sport."
