NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast volleyball team swept Spalding 25-16, 25-22, 25-12 to extend its winning streak to 12 consecutive matches on Thursday night.

Monica Loftus led the Grenadiers with nine kills, Alexis Bassett had eight and Parker Andres, Lindsey Howell and Kelsey Willinger each added six.

Hannah Sipe had 34 assists for IU Southeast and Kenna Burman and Maddie Jacobi had 12 and 11 digs, respectively.

IU Southeast (12-11) were effective in serve-receive as the Grenadiers tallied nine aces on the night and committed no reception errors.

Claudia Spivey had eight kills for Spalding.

The Grenadiers jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the first set and did not look back cruising to a 25-16 win.

The second set was much closer with the Grenadiers leading 18-16 late in the set. They scored seven of the last 13 points to clinch the set.

In the third, IU Southeast jumped out to a 9-3 lead and finished the match on a 16-9 run. The Grenadiers had five aces in the final set and Howell closed out the match with an ace.

The Grenadiers head to Indiana Tech for matches on Friday and Saturday. IU Southeast will take on Huntington and Indiana Tech at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Friday.
