FRANKLIN, Ind. - The IU Southeast men's tennis team won a decisive 8-1 match at Franklin on Sunday afternoon with the lone point coming by forfeit due to injury.

Newcomers Bradly Cross, Dane Baldwin and Zach Kelly all had straight set wins in the first dual match of their college careers.

In doubles action the Grenadiers won 8-2, 8-1 and 8-1 to complete a 3-0 sweep heading into singles.  Brock Winchell and Zach Kelly both took their matches with identical scores of 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 1 and No. 5 positions.  Bradley Cross only dropped one game on his way to a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2 and Daulton Fensler and Sam Venter took care of business in straight set wins at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions.

"It was good to get a dual match played in the fall season and have some our new players get familiar with the college format," head coach Joe Epkey said.  "Having injuries to one of our top players Garrett Fensler and being cautious with newcomer Dane Baldwin who is coming off elbow surgery allows us to get other players some experience which will help us down the road."

The Grenadiers (1-0) will head to Asbury for the RSC Individual Fall Tournament on September 15 & 16.
