LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The 2009-10 Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) Basketball Championships are approaching! Eight men's and eight women's teams will compete for an automatic berth to the NAIA Division II National Championships. The opening round will be held at higher seed sites on Tuesday, February 23rd.

Winners of the opening round will advance to the neutral site semifinals at the Frankfort Convention Center (FCC) in Frankfort, Ky. on Friday, February 26th. The semifinal winners square off Saturday afternoon at FCC in the title games.

The IU Southeast women will host No.8-seed St. Louis College of Pharmacy at 6 p.m. in the Activities Building on Feb. 23. The IU Southeast men will also host No. 8-seed St. Louis College of Pharmacy. The Grenadier men will play at approximately 8 p.m. after the conclusion of the women's game.
 
Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. on Feb. 23 in New Albany. Tickets for the opening round game are $7 for adult general admission. Admission is free of charge for children 12 years old or younger. IU Southeast will also honor all season tickets. IU Southeast Faculty, Staff and Students will be admitted FREE of charge with UCARD.

If the Grenadier women win on Tuesday (2/23) they will play the winner of the No. 4-seed vs. No. 5-seed at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26. If the Grenadier men win on Tuesday (2/23) they will also play the winner of the No. 4-seed vs. No. 5-seed on the men's side of the bracket at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26.

The women's championship game is at 1 p.m. on Saturday (2/27) with the men's championship game following at 4 p.m.

Teams included in the KIAC Tournament are Alice Lloyd College, Asbury College, Berea College, Brescia University, Cincinnati Christian University, Indiana University East (men only), Indiana University Southeast, Midway College (women only), and St. Louis College of Pharmacy.
 
Both the men's and women's tournaments are single elimination, with an automatic bid to the winners of the tournament to the NAIA Division II National Championship. The NAIA Division II National Championships involve a 32-team single elimination tournament for the men and women. The men's national tournament will be played in Point Lookout, Missouri at College of the Ozarks on March 10-16, 2010. The championship for the women occurs in Sioux City, Iowa at the Tyson Events Center also on March 10-16, 2010
 
Tickets at FCC are $10 for an adult, $8 for a senior adult, and $5 for students per day. Host schools will have ticket pricing information and handle media requests for first round games.
