ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. – The IU Southeast men's tennis team advanced to its fourth-straight conference championship against Asbury but fell to the Eagles 5-0 on Saturday.
The Grenadiers (15-12) fell behind 3-0 after doubles with the closest match coming at No. 2 doubles where Brock Winchell and Garrett Fensler fell 9-7. Jonathan James and Chris Braun dropped an 8-5 decision to Josh and Ty Abraham.
In singles play, Winchell lost 6-0, 6-0 to Joshua Turnquest and Josh Abraham clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-2 defeat of Jonathan James.
IU Southeast senior trio of Chris Braun, Jonathan James and Bryson Mills led the Grenadiers to an unprecedented four-straight conference championship appearances and won in 2014 and 2016. The Grenadiers return four experienced players from this year's team for the 2018 campaign.
