NEW ALBANY, Ind. – IU Southeast used a five-run fourth inning rally to get a comeback win in game one against Carlow and jumped out to a 7-0 lead in game two to close the regular season with a sweep of Carlow.

IU Southeast (24-19, 12-6 RSC) won game one 6-4 and game two 12-5.

In game one, the Grenadiers trailed 4-0 after the top of the second inning but used a five-run fourth inning to take the lead for good after getting on the board with a run in the second.

In the fourth, Morgan Keefer came through with the bases loaded when she hit a liner off the glove of pitcher Nicole Hall to bring in Emily Gray who had singled. Maddie Probus and Kyndyl Olds followed with two-run singles to give the Grenadiers a 6-4 lead.

Emily Gray earned her 11th win of the year in relief of starter Emily Weiss. Gray worked five and third scoreless innings and gave up only four hits while striking out three.

Becca Schoenung went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and Sydney Seger added two hits.

In game two, the Grenadiers junped out to a 7-0 lead with a six-run first inning. The Grenadiers added four more runs in the sixth to put the game away after Carlow had cut into the lead with a four-run third inning.

Emily Hollis went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI and Sydney Seger was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI. Emily Weiss and Becca Schoenung each drove in three for IU Southeast.

The Grenadiers head to Vienna, W.V. for the River States Conference Tournament which begins Friday. Seedings and game times will be announced next week.
