NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast baseball team swept a doubleheader from a pesky Oakland City team 5-4 and 11-7 on Wednesday.

In game one, the Grenadiers opened the scoring with a four-run first inning. Julian Flanary had a two-run single in the frame.

Oakland City (11-23) tied the game with a four-run second inning. Max Lanham had a two-run double and Craig Peters hit a two-run single to tie the game.

IU Southeast (28-9) got the go-ahead run in the fourth inning when Logan Barnes hit a sacrifice fly to bring in Zach Reboulet.

Andrew Yates got the win. He worked two innings in relief and walked one and struck out one.

Richard Rodriguez went 2-for-4 in the win.

In game two, the Grenadiers put an eight-spot on the Oaks in the first inning. Logan Barnes had a two-run double and Eddie Chessell and Julian Flanary each had two-run singles in the inning.

Oakland City scored four runs in the third inning and added another run in the fourth to make it an 8-7 IU Southeast lead.

The Grenadiers responded with a three-run fifth inning to put the game out of reach. Eddie Chessel hit a sacrifice fly and then Barnes came through with another two-run double.

John Cecil got the win for IU Southeast. Logan Barnes went 3-for-4 with four RBI and Chessell finished 2-for-2 with three RBI.

The Grenadiers host Ohio Christian Friday and Saturday for Senior Weekend. Friday's action starts at 5 p.m. and Saturday's Senior Day doubleheader begins at 1 p.m. The Grenadiers' nine seniors will be honored between games.
