NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast pitching staff shut down the Oakland City bats and the Grenadier offense continued to roll in a 7-0 and 6-1 sweep of the Lady Oaks on Monday.

In game one, starter Emily Gray hurled a four-hit shutout and struck out eight on the day.

IU Southeast (16-18) opened the scoring in the bottom of the first when Justice Kline hit a two-run single to score Kyndyl Olds and Emily Hollis.

The Grenadiers added two more runs in the third. Emily Hollis singled, stole second and scored on an RBI triple from Sydney Seger. Seger scored on another double from Kline.

Sydney Seger added another run with an RBI single in the fourth to knock in Olds who had reached on a fielder's choice and stole second.

The Grenadiers added a pair in the bottom of the fifth. Morgan Keefer and Becca Schoenung led off with back-to-back singles. Keefer would score on a wild pitch and Sidney Chumbler scored on a RBI single from Maddie Probus, one of her three hits in the game.

Oakland City had one runner in scoring position the entire contest when Lauren Morton doubled to left in the fourth.

Justice Kline went 2-for-2 with three RBI in the game and Sydney Seger was 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In game two, Sydney Seger singled to score Olds who had started the first inning with a single.  

IU Southeast would break the game open with a three-run second inning. Morgan Keefer led offith a single and stole second. Kaylin Klosterman tripled to right-center to score Keefer. Maddie Probus followed with an RBI single and Kyndyl Olds would single and later score on a throwing error.

After Oakland City scored a run on a dropped fly ball in the top of the sixth, the Grenadiers added a pair in the bottom of the inning.

Becca Schoenung singled and scored on an RBI double from Keefer and Klosterman hit a sacrifice fly to right to bring in Keefer.

Becca Schoenung got the win. She worked six and a third shutout innings and allowed five hits while striking out four.

Kyndyl Olds, Becca Schoenung and Morgan Keefer each had two hits and Kaylin Klosterman had two RBI in the win.
