NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- No. 24-ranked IU Southeast has a chance to clinch an automatic bid to the NAIA Division II national tournament in Saturday's River States Conference Men's Basketball Game of the Week versus fellow playoff team Brescia University. Tipoff is Feb. 18 at 3 p.m. in New Albany, Ind.

No. 24 IU Southeast (21-5, 15-2 RSC) can lock up the best conference record in the RSC during the regular season with a win versus the Bearcats (12-15, 9-8 RSC), the season finale for both teams. The RSC regular-season champion is guaranteed a bid to the national tournament with one of the conference's invites.

IU Southeast has a 5.0-game lead for first-place in the RSC West Division. The Grenadiers have won three in a row and are 11-1 at home. IU Southeast moved to within a game of clinching nationals with its 92-76 win at Midway on Tuesday. 

Brescia has won four in a row and is 9-2 in conference play since starting out 0-6 RSC. The Bearcats locked up a playoff spot with Thursday night's 87-61 win at Midway, after when Brescia can finish no lower than fourth in the RSC West. 

IU Southeast has the top defense in the conference ranking first in scoring defense at 72.81 ppg. The Grenadiers lead the country in blocks and are second in the country in field-goal defense (.374). Offensively, guards Jamie Johnson (15.1 ppg) and Demetrius Stanton (14.6 ppg) lead the way with the front court of Robert Sawyer, Joe Jackson and Tyler Landry coming on strong. 

Brescia has guard/forward Dillon Geralds at 19.0 ppg and 8.4 rpg and guards Trey Howard (14.8 ppg) and Tavon Johnson (13.0 ppg). Forward Kayode Daboiku put up 15 points and 12 rebounds in the win at Midway on Thursday.
