KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The IU Southeast women's tennis program earned a No. 23 national ranking in the NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Preseason Poll as announced Tuesday by the NAIA national office. The IU Southeast women's tennis team is currently 10-2 overall and an undefeated 8-0 in the KIAC. The Grenadiers will begin the spring portion of their season on April 3 when they host Centre College at 10 a.m. in New Albany.

Six-time defending national champion Auburn Montgomery (Ala.) is named No. 1 in the NAIA Top 25 Preseason Poll. The Lady Senators have been ranked at the top of the poll for 41 consecutive ratings, dating back to Feb. 11, 2004.

Fresno Pacific (Calif.), which has finished as runner-up in four straight national championships, earned two first-place votes and is ranked second. No. 3 Concordia (Calif.), No. 4 Embry-Riddle (Fla.) and No. 5 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) round out the rest of the top five.

Eleven conferences and unaffiliated groupings are represented in the poll. The Golden State Athletic Conference leads all groups with six ranked schools. The GSAC is represented by Fresno Pacific, Concordia, No. 6 Vanguard (Calif.), No. 8 Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.), No. 11 Azusa Pacific (Calif.) and No. 17 Westmont (Calif.).

The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, independents and unaffiliated groupings. The first regular season Top 25 poll will be announced on Feb. 23.
