MUNCIE, Ind. - For the second straight weekend the men's tennis team faced off against some very tough competition as the Grenadiers took on Division I Ball State on Saturday after facing the University of Southern Indiana last weekend.
The Grenadiers (4-2) had their best showings at No. 3 doubles from Bryson Mills and Brock Winchell dropped an 8-2 decision and competed hard at No. 2 and No. 3 singles where Brock Winchell lost 6-1,6-4 and Jonathan James fell at No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-3.
"Overall as a team we made some improvements from our opening weekend and will continue to do so every week," head coach Joe Epkey said. "We have a group of guys that are hungry to get better and enjoy playing our tough schedule."
The Grenadiers look to bounce back with a win on Feb.17 against NAIA opponent St. Francis (IL) at the University of Indianapolis indoor facility at 5 p.m.
