NEW ALBANY, Ind. – A furious comeback from IU Southeast fell short as No. 21 IU East defeated IU Southeast 88-74 Saturday.

The Grenadiers (11-11, 6-6 RSC) trailed by 19 points with 3:40 left in the third quarter before a 15-3 run by IU Southeast cut the lead to 62-55 after three periods.

Annie Thomas scored 17 points in the second half and Jocelyn Mousty had 10 in the second half to key the comeback and the Grenadiers did much of their damage at the free-throw line where they shot 16-of-20 in the second half.

Thomas finished with 22 points, Ashley Lyninger and Jocelyn Mousty each had 15 and Madi Woods had 11.

Tia King was too much for IU Southeast to handle as she scored 28 points and had 10 rebounds on 11-of-14 shooting. Mackenzie Campbell scored 23 points, Suzy Wollenhaupt added 18 and Kristen Miller had 11.

The Grenadiers host IU Kokomo Tuesday at 6 p.m.
