NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast women's basketball team dropped a tight decision 79-75 to Oakland City on Tuesday.

Annie Thomas led the Grenadiers with 23 points, Ashley Lyninger added 14 points and Baylee Krueger had 11 points all in the first half.

The Grenadiers (8-10) led 41-33 at halftime behind the strong play of Krueger who hit a couple big three-pointers.

The second half turned when the Grenadiers committed 17 turnovers.

The Lady Oaks (10-5) opened the second half on an 8-0 run to tie the game and took a 53-50 lead at the end of the third quarter.

They opened the fourth quarter 13-3 run to take a 66-56 lead. The Grenadiers clawed back but Oakland City hit their free throws down the stretch to pull out the victory.

The Grenadiers host Carlow University Friday at 6 p.m.
