NEW ALBANY, Ind. - Seniors Mary Dye and Katie Fischer were honored as 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes, the NAIA announced today.

481 volleyball student-athletes have been named 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.

This is the second-straight year that both athletes have earned this award.

Mary Dye ended her stellar career at IU Southeast by playing collegiate volleyball for the first time this season after playing three years of basketball  and earned second team All-RSC honors.

Katie Fischer finished her career ranked in the top-10 in career blocks at IU Southeast and capped off her career by also earning second team All-Conference accolades.
