KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The IU Southeast Women's Basketball program finds itself just outside the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, which was released Monday by the NAIA national office. The Grenadiers received one vote for the weekly top 25 poll. The IU Southeast women's basketball program is currently 10-7 overall and 4-0 in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC).

Davenport (Mich.) maintained its position at No. 1 in the fourth edition of the Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The Lady Panthers captured 14 first-place votes and 435 points. The top-five teams from 2009 stayed put as No. 2 Hastings (Neb.) earned a pair of first-place nods, followed by No. 3 Northwestern (Iowa), No. 4 Shawnee State (Ohio) and No. 5 Jamestown (N.D.).

Eight teams held on to their ranking as they closed out 2009 and a trio of teams broke into the poll to begin 2010. New to the poll this week is No. 14 Marian (Ind.), No. 20 College of Idaho and No. 25 Bryan (Tenn.). College of Idaho was previously receiving votes. Saint Francis (Ind.), Southern Oregon and Concordia (Ore.) fell out of the Top 25.

The Great Plains Athletic Conference continues to lead all leagues with five ranked teams: Hastings, Northwestern, No. 7 Mount Marty (S.D.), No. 10 Briar Cliff (Iowa) and No. 16 Morningside (Iowa). The Mid-Central Collegiate Conference boasts four ranked teams in No. 6 Indiana Wesleyan, Marian (Ind.), No. 18 Bethel (Ind.) and No. 23 Taylor (Ind.).

Davenport (17-1, 2-0 WHAC) is the second team of the season to occupy the No. 1 spot for two consecutive weeks. The Broncos have already toppled ranked league foes Mount Marty and Briar Cliff, but await their dates with Morningside (Jan. 30) and Northwestern (Feb. 13). The nation's top-ranked team from behind the arc at 43 percent is coming off of a 72-51 dismantling of Mount Marty on Sunday. Hastings will continue in GPAC action with a home matchup against Dana (Neb.) on Wednesday, followed by a Saturday meeting at Dordt (Iowa).

Ranked third with 408 points, Northwestern has rattled off seven straight wins since a Dec. 9 loss to then-No. 18 Morningside to improve to 15-2, 6-1 GPAC. The Red Raiders enter this week's action, a pair of league road games at Sioux Falls (S.D.) and Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.), after an 86-51 win over Nebraska Wesleyan on Jan. 9. The Bears improved to 11-2, 3-0 AMC record after handing Houghton (N.Y.) an 85-67 setback on Jan. 5.
