NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- Brooke Leanhart of Oldham County, Ky. signed to play softball with Indiana University Southeast this past week.

Leanhart is a four year varsity basketball starter and a six year varsity softball starter for Oldham County High School Lady Colonels. Leanhart was a pitcher and centerfielder for Oldham County. In 2009, Leanhart had 45 at-bats with five doubles, five triples and four home runs. Leanhart averaged .555 from the plate during 2009. During her junior year, Leanhart also won the 29^th District MVP and was on the 8^th Region All-Tournament Team.

Leanhart will be studying nursing at Indiana University Southeast.
