NEW ALBANY, Ind. (April 7, 2009) - The Indiana University Southeast volleyball program announced today that New Albany High School senior Emily Knight has signed to attend college and play volleyball at IU Southeast next season.

Grenadier Head Volleyball Coach Lesley Drury-Prather believes Emily's quickness will be a benefit, "We are so excited to have Emily join our team in the fall. She will give us a spark on defense with her speed and hustle. I look for her to do big things during her career here at IU Southeast."
Knight has played four seasons at New Albany High School as a defensive specialist from 2005-2009. While under the direction of Bulldog Head Coach John Breeding, Knight helped lead the team to two sectional championships in 2006 and 2007.

In 2007, the New Albany High School volleyball team also won an IHSAA regional tournament and made an IHSAA Final Four appearance in Indianapolis, Ind.
Knight was named All-Hoosier Hills Conference Honorable Mention in 2006 as a sophomore for her outstanding play.
Not only has Knight played volleyball at New Albany High School, she has also competed in Union Club Volleyball in Southern Indiana.

Knight will graduate from New Albany in June and will begin her volleyball playing career at IU Southeast in August.
Emily currently lives in New Albany with her parents, Kurt and Dianne Knight.
